During the Global Entrepreneurship Week entrepreneurship is celebrated in more than 160 countries. In the third week of November more than 100 events in the Netherlands inspire over ten thousand entrepreneurs, students, policymakers and academics to engage in entrepreneurship and connect them to mentors, new talent or investors. Every day from the 14th to 20th of November one main event will take place to highlight a specific theme. The week will be opened simultaneously in several regions in the Netherlands.
GEW is a celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare. Thousands of brand new startups spring to life through bootcamps, hundreds of universities strengthen connections that help them commercialize research from their labs, researchers and policymakers engage in discussions around the world to examine the underlying policies necessary to promote entrepreneurial growth, and serial entrepreneurs share their expertise. In the Netherlands the GEW is organised by the Dutch Centers for Entrepreneurship (DutchCE).
